AIRJ talk about Japanese spirituality
From: Marco Pellegrini <marco@n.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp>
Date: 2022/09/26
Dear all,
nice to meet you my name is Marco Pellegrini, I am Associate Professor in the department of Nuclear Engineering in the University of Tokyo and I serve as secretary of the Association of Italian Researchers in Japan (AIRJ).
I am sending this email to share with you a talk organized by our association with of the title:
"Livin' on a Prayer? A Practical Introduction to "Religion," "Spirituality," and "the Secular" in Contemporary Japan"
which I would like you to share with your community.
You can find more detail in attachment about the topic and the speaker, Prof. Andrea De Antoni.
The talk is planned to be online on October 25th at 17:00 JST.
Just to give you a little background on us, in 2019 a group of Italian professors and researchers working in Japan (universities and research labs) have established the Association of Italian Researchers in Japan (AIRJ) https://airj.info/ .
AIRJ counts mostly STEM researchers who have limited knowledge of Japan from the point of view of social-sciences.
Hence, since 2021 we have set up a format named AIRJtalks in which non STEM professors and researchers give an introductory talk on their studies to the members of the association.
Until last year the talks were in Italian language but from this year, given their success in the community, we have decided to have them in English and to extend also to non members of our association who could be interested in the topic.
If this topic can be of interest to your community could you please let me know and I can create a more proper post to invite to the event?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Best regards,
Marco
