Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from Ankara, Türkiye. We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Southeast Asia Graduate Congress, organized by the ASEAN Center for Applied Studies and Research at the Social Sciences University of Ankara (SSUA), Türkiye.

The congress will take place on May 6-7, 2026, in a hybrid format (both in person in Ankara and online) and is open to Master's and PhD students worldwide.

This interdisciplinary congress aims to bring together graduate students working on Southeast Asia and ASEAN-related topics, fostering academic dialogue between Türkiye, ASEAN, and the wider international scholarly community.

Participation: In-person and/or online
Accepted abstracts will be published in the official Congress Abstract Book

About the SSUA ASEAN Center

The ASEAN Center for Applied Studies and Research, established in June 2025 at SSUA, is an interdisciplinary academic center focusing on Southeast Asia and the eleven ASEAN member states. The Center aims to advance high-quality research, graduate education, and academic cooperation by addressing the political, economic, social, and cultural dynamics of the region. Its mission is to enhance academic knowledge on ASEAN's global significance and to strengthen Türkiye's academic engagement with Southeast Asia through comparative and interdisciplinary research.

Within this framework, the Center:

Conducts and supports ASEAN-focused academic research
Organizes conferences, seminars, and workshops
Promotes student and faculty exchanges and joint research projects
Develops institutional partnerships with universities and research networks in ASEAN countries
Produces academic and policy-oriented publications
Beyond its academic role, the Center also aims to serve as a bridge between Türkiye and ASEAN, fostering sustainable dialogue, cooperation, and knowledge exchange. We are open to academic and institutional collaborations and would be delighted to explore joint initiatives with your institution.
