(April 15) U.S. Economic Security Past and Present and the Strategic U.S.-Japan Partnership

The Economic Security Intelligence Lab (ESIL) at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), The University of Tokyo, and the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo are honored to co-host for a public symposium titled:

U.S. Economic Security Past and Present and the Strategic U.S.-Japan Partnership
As part of the America250 Mission Speaker Program commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, Economic Security Intelligence Lab (ESIL) at RCAST, the University of Tokyo will welcome Evan T. Felsing, Minister-Counselor for Economic and Scientific Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, to explore the evolution and current priorities of U.S. economic security, focusing on critical sectors such as shipbuilding, critical minerals, and semiconductors, and reflecting on policy developments over the past fifty years. Drawing on insights from the recent U.S.-Japan Leaders' Summit, Mr. Felsing will highlight the strategic importance of the U.S.-Japan partnership in shaping global economic and security priorities. The presentation will provide a comprehensive view of the historical foundations, present challenges, and future directions of U.S. economic policy in a rapidly evolving international landscape.
The seminar will be conducted in English (Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation provided) and pre-registration is required to participate.
