I am pleased to announce the workshop "Religion and Politics in Japan: Historical Legacies, Contemporary Dynamics, and Critical Reflections," taking place on February 12, 2025 (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM) at Osaka University's Suita Campus.

The event, chaired by Professor Paola Cavaliere (University of Milan), will feature presentations by Prof. Levi McLaughlin (North Carolina State University) and Prof. Ioannis Gaitanidis (Chiba University), exploring contemporary religion-state relations in Japan from political and legal perspectives. A roundtable discussion will follow.
