JPOSS call for proposals: fall & 2023-24

From: Fujihira, Shinju <sfujihira@wcfia.harvard.edu>
Date: 2023/09/19

Dear Colleague,

I hope your fall semester has started well. On behalf of JPOSS organizers, I write with this call for proposals to the Japanese Politics Online Seminar Series (JPOSS), which you can submit here. Since July 2000, we have held over 40 exciting sessions, and we look forward very much to our 4th year!

Presentation can be early stage work (pre-analysis plan or exploratory data analysis), working paper, or a practice job talk. We hope to receive proposals from a broad range of subfields and methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative methods, historical case studies, surveys, experiments, political economy, security studies, and other approaches and subfields. We encourage proposals from scholars in different career stages, including senior and junior faculty, graduate students, predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows, and others.

As organizers, we have also explored ways to make our sessions more inclusive and interactive, and would value your feedback and input. Please email them and any questions you may have to me (sfujihira@wcfia.harvard.edu). Thank you in advance, and we look forward to receiving your proposals!

Best wishes,

Shinju Fujihira, on behalf of:

Amy Catalinac (NYU)
Christina Davis (Harvard)
Yusaku Horiuchi (Dartmouth)
Saori Katada (USC)
Phillip Lipscy (University of Toronto)
Daniel Smith (University of Pennsylvania)
