Dear Colleagues,

Please allow me to draw your attention to the following event on 1 June, which the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) Tokyo is organizing together with the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB):

-------

Symposium "Sustainable Space - Resilient Earth: Perspectives and contributions from Japan and Germany"

Space system services such as telecommunications, navigation and Earth observation are indispensable for the functioning of modern societies and unhindered access to space by promoting the safe and sustainable use of space is of utmost importance for Germany and Japan. Both countries are at the forefront of developing technologies to mitigate the space debris problem and are looking back on decades of close cooperation in the space domain.

The symposium "Sustainable Space - Resilient Earth: Perspectives and contributions from Japan and Germany" on 1 June from 15:00-18:00 (JST) / 08:00-11:00 (CEST), organized by the DWIH Tokyo and the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), will bring together Japanese and German experts from academia and industry to reflect on strategies and regulations, stakeholders and claims, innovative technologies, and also the Japanese and German contributions to improve sustainability in space.

This is a hybrid event and will be held in Tokyo (German Culture Center in Akasaka) and streamed online.
