Japan Zoominar @ UC San Diego: "The Bank of Japan Going Forward: Debt, Inflation and Monetary Policy Choices," with Takeo Hoshi

Wed, Feb 22, 9:00-10:00 am JST (Tue, Feb 21, 4:00-5:00 pm Pacific)

A new Governor of The Bank of Japan has been announced with Professor UEDA Kazuo. This will be a tough job. After more than 20 years of near-zero interest rates and 10 years of extraordinary quantitative easing - all seemingly to little effect - a new path has to be forged amidst competing vested interests. Join Professor Takeo Hoshi of The University of Tokyo for a discussion of what lies ahead for Japan's macroeconomic policy and economic growth.
