Greta Thunberg says school strikes have achieved nothing

While GT is not repudiating school strikes, her comment is telling and I would like to think that a lack of theatrical demonstrations in Japan sufficient to satisfy our self-appointed gaijin advisors in this venue just might be recognition of the futility inherent in such activities.

As an old-line trade unionist, the whole notion of school strikes impresses me as absurd. Strikes need to be targeted at those who are exploiting you or those who can bring about the changes you are seeking. Schools do not fall into either category in terms of climate change.
