The British Association for Japanese Studies (Japan
Branch) warmly invites colleagues and members to its two events this year.
18 May, 13:30-17:40, at Kyoto University: "Reflections on Politics, Law and Human Rights in Contemporary Japan". The speakers are Ian Neary (University of Oxford), Mari Miura (Sophia University), Koichi Nakano (Sophia University), Mark Fenwick (Kyushu University) and Colin Jones (Doshisha University). Our autumn event will be held in Akita on 2-3 November and is co-hosted by Akita University and Akita International University. The theme is "Sustainability and Revitalization in Rural Areas of Japan". The event website is:
