Greg Noble raises the important point of whether older, healthier people's productivity is as good as it used to be for younger people. I would like to see evidence for this, one way or the other. It would require examining changes over time, holding a lot of other stuff constant. Has anyone seen such evidence?
I was on a panel on aging with a British sociologist who stated that there was no evidence for the lower ability of older people to keep up with new methods and technology in the workplace. I am sure that a lot my old fogey colleagues on this list will cheer this pronouncement, even if they do not quite believe it.
