SUMMARY
The population in Japan is very rapidly ageing, even when compared with other developed countries. In order to cope with this drastically ageing population, it is extremely important for us to promote the employment of older people. If we could construct a Life-long Active Society in which the will and ability of older people is fully utilized, that would be one optimal solution for the ageing society. Professor Seike will discuss the possibility of a Life-long Active Society and the necessary reforms of employment systems and social security schemes to realize it.
