An Invitation to Attend the 1995 Joint
Western Conference of the Association for Asian
Studies & LCSC International Exchange Conference September 29-30 (WCAAS)
September 27-29 (IEC) __________________________________________________________
The 1995 Annual Meeting of the Western Conference of the Association for Asian
Studies will be held 29-30 September at the Williams Conference Center,
Lewis-Clark State College - Lewiston, Idaho. The WCAAS will be held in
conjunction with LCSC's 15th International Exchange Conference on the Pacific
Rim. Academic panels, invited speakers, diplomats, business people, non-profit
organizations and students all make this an important regional conference. The
1995 IEC will begin the evening of September 27th and last until Friday,
September 29th. The joint conference has over four dozen panels, and there are
special plenary speeches, cultural activities, and exhibits arranged which will
all combine to make this an exciting learning opportunity. We are listing the
entire conference program on the Worldwide Web, and will include abstracts to
many of the papers. The address is:

Logistics, Registration Form and Panel Titles

Lewiston
Driving to Lewiston takes about 6-7 hours from Portland or Seattle, and can be
reached by highways 95, 12, and connecting to Interstate 90. The Nez Perce
County Regional Airport is a full service airport, and connections exist on
Empire or Horizon airlines. Convenient connection cities are Spokane, Seattle,
Boise, or Portland.

Some hotels have shuttles, and taxi service is available. The airport is not far
from the college.

Transportation at the Conference
LCSC student organizations will provide a shuttle service to the hotels listed
below with an asterisk * for the convenience of conference attendees.
Transportation for the WCAAS luncheon-banquet will also be provided. Parking on
campus is free of charge.

Conference participants may take advantage of the following lodging facilities
