1. Law and Investment in Japan by Yanagida, Foote, Johnson, Ramseyer, and Scogin. This is excellent and up to date, having been published in Jan 1995.

2. Foreign Enterprise in Japan by Dan F. Henderson 1973, seldom read but often quoted, a real authority.
