[SSJ: 22] Cite search, Japanese interest groups

I'm looking for literature in English or Japanese (although I haven't found anything in English, so I guess it would have to be in Japanese) on Japanese interest groups. Not case studies necessarily, but something general & theoretical on how Japanese interest groups work, how they cultivate & sustain relations with politicians & bureaucrats (money I suppose)---etc.
In the course of doing my research on the politics of reproduction in japan I have found that in this subject area & time period (postwar), the flow of information & power has often gone in a down-up direction (rather than the up-down direction we so often hear about in Japan-related poli sci stuff) from related interest groups (doctors groups, midwives groups, family planning groups, pharmaceutical co's, etc) to politicians and bureaucrats...............
Also, I'm interested in getting cites on the JMA's political power in the postwar period (again, English or Japanese) -- maybe Prof. Campbell could help me with this? Thanks,
T. Norgren
