Mac Salman, founder of Maction Planet and Kanpai Planet and respected Japan analyst, will give us an insider's look at Japan's drinks industry. Mac Salman is a U.K.-born analyst and commentator on Japan, its culture, art and economy who has lived in Tokyo for almost two decades. He is the founder and lead guide of Maction Planet, which specializes in bespoke Japan tours, and the creator of Kanapi Planet, a YouTube-first content platform dedicated to Japan's drinks. He holds a distinction in WSET Level 3 Sake, is a Certified Sake Professional of the SEC and a qualified U.K. actuary, and he has been featured in Reuters, The New York Times, The Japan Times, Bloomberg, CNBC, Forbes, The Financial Times, SNL and Tonic Magazine, amongst others. Salman is a diehard fan of Exeter City FC and the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, and he has travelled to over 100 countries and all seven continents.
Ulrike Schaede is Professor of Japanese Business at UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy.
