From: Kristi Govella <kristi.govella@nissan.ox.ac.uk>
Date: 2025/11/25
Dear Colleagues,

The Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies at the University of Oxford has just announced a job opening for an Associate Professor in the Economy and Business of Japan. This is basically equivalent to an open-rank search--"associate professor" is the main academic career grade at Oxford with a focus on research and teaching, spanning the full range of professor grades (assistant, associate, full) in the United States.
The position is open to those focusing on Economics or Business or closely related fields such as Political Economy, Economic Sociology, Management, or Economic History. Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome.
More information can be found at the website below, including a PDF with many details about job duties, qualifications, etc., which is also attached to this email:
The application deadline is January 7 at noon (UK time). If potential candidates wish to discuss the position further, they can contact Professor Diego Sánchez-Ancochea (diego.sanchez-ancochea@qeh.ox.ac.uk). All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence and will not form part of the selection decision. Thank you!

Best,
Kristi Govella
