Call for papers for the online section meeting "Education" (VSJF) November 7^th,2025

 

Dear members of the SSJ mailing list,

 

The section meeting "Education" of the German Association for Social Science Research on Japan (VSJF) will once again be held online this year, allowing researchers and students from different time zones to participate and share their research. It will take place on November, 7th 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00 (CET) / 18:00 to 20:00 (JST).

 

Last year's online format received excellent feedback, so if you are interested, please take a look at the 2024 final report here.

 

English will serve as the lingua franca during our section meeting to ensure wider participation and to provide an opportunity for researchers from Germany, Europe, and Japan to benefit from each other's feedback and expertise.

The section meeting "Education" during the annual meeting of the German Association for Social Science Research on Japan (VSJF) is a networking platform aimed at (young) researchers and students interested in education in Japan, but also welcomes individuals from outside the academic context. We aim to offer a space for discussing the topic of education and its political and social implications in Japan, while encouraging exchange among people from various backgrounds. We view ourselves as a forum that allows young scholars and students to present their research and receive valuable feedback from senior scholars and the interested public.

 

Please submit a short abstract (up to 500 words) for a 20 to 30-minute presentation by September 30th, 2025, to education@vsjf.net .
