Symposium on Education Policy and Practice in Japan

From: raspinal <raspinal@mail.doshisha.ac.jp>
Date: 2024/12/01

The BAJS Japan Chapter is pleased to announce a symposium entitled
Policy and Practice in Japan's Education at Kyoto University on 11th-12th Jan 2025.
(With travel and accommodation stipend for 3-4 postgraduate participants).
This small international symposium brings together scholars researching education practice in relation to policy; or researching policy in relation to practice.

It aims to provide a friendly atmosphere for established scholars, early-career researchers, and postgrad students to meet and to share works-in-progress. The first day includes presentations from five researchers at various career stages; and a dinner party. The second day discusses the process of doing a doctorate, including: networking, writing, publishing on-route and career-planning.
Details are provided in the PDF attached.
All established, early-career and doctoral researchers are welcome to attend.
The event is generously hosted by the University of Kyoto School of Education. The British Association of Japan Studies (BAJS) Japan Chapter will provide domestic travel expenses and an accommodation stipend to 3-4 postgraduate students who are members of BAJS or intend to join BAJS.
Please feel free to contact Sam or any of the organisers for more information.
With very best wishes,
Robert Aspinall, JD Parker, Yuka Kitayama, Sam Bamkin
