On July 11, the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIEE) will host an hour-long webinar on "Structural changes and policy developments in the Japanese financial system." First, Toshiyuki Miyoshi, the Financial Services Agency's Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs, will speak about current development and FSA policies. Then, I will present my views on what change Japan needs to make in its financial system for the latter to play its proper role in promoting economic growth. That will be followed by a moderated discussion.
