YCAPS Community Conversations In-Person Seminar
In Stormy Seas: Climate Change, Maritime Security and the QUAD
13 June 2024, 18:15 (Fussa In-Person)
YCAPS is delighted to announce our next event of the Community Conversations seminar series in Fussa. This event will feature Dr. Robert Mizo, who will present on climate change, maritime security and the QUAD.
Maritime security is one of the most vulnerable domains of security in the face of changing climate. The physical impacts of climate change can derail existing security mechanisms and strategies of countries and collectives. The Quad's goal of securing a 'free and open Indo-pacific' could be disrupted in several ways by direct and indirect impacts of climate change. This talk aims to analyze these threats and deliberate on how the QUAD can augment efforts to deal with these challenges.
