Dear list-members,
Please allow me to send a friendly reminder about two job openings at the Institute of Modern Japanese Studies at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany to be filled on or before 1 October 2024.
The two positions are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) to pursue research as part of the project "Traditional Craft Industries and Their Markets in 21st Century Japan - Social and Economic (Re-)Organisation". The funding allows both the pursuit of a PhD on this topic under my supervision or research as part of a Postdoc project.
For more information on the project please refer to my website under "research projects":
https://www.modernes-japan.
Note that the proposed sites for the research in Kanazawa and Fukui/Sabae are not 100 percent fixed. I have conducted initial visits and hearings and believe them to be suitable project sites, but I am open to discuss other sites as long as they fit the overall remit of the project. The planned research on Nishijin-ori in Kyoto will be conducted by myself.
Those of you who are interested in applying, please consult the job advertisements (Kennziffer: 108.24-3.1) in either German or English for all details at:
