Dear SSJ-Forum Members,
The Waseda Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies and The Waseda Institute of Asian Migrations would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming international symposium "Democratizing International Student Mobility." This symposium aims to examine international student mobility in the contemporary era with a specific focus on the issue of inequality and the practices and experiences related to the possibility of democratization of international education.
In this symposium, we ask how students from a wide range of social backgrounds, not just the socioeconomically affluent and academic elites, can be included in cross-border educational mobility. We pay attention to the plurality of international educational practices, including those in and beyond higher education, and those following unconventional trajectories. For more information about the panels and panelists, please check our Program Book.
The symposium will be held in-person at Waseda University from February 2 (Friday) 9:30 AM to February 3 (Saturday) 6:00 PM JST. Registration is required, please visit our website here for registration and more information.
After the first day of the symposium, there will be a reception dinner provided, free of charge (Registration required).
We look forward to seeing you there.
Best regards,
Waseda Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies
The Waseda Institute of Asian Migrations
