YCAPS-SPF Community Conversations In-Person Seminar
Mongolia and its Constructive Contributions to Northeast Asian Security Issues
4 November 2023, 12:30 (Hybrid Online/Misawa In-Person)

*Update* - We are excited to announce that for the first time in the Community Conversations series, we will be able to offer this event as a Hybrid event. This means for those not in Misawa, you can join us on zoom and take part in the lecture and Q&A session! Full details and registration info follows.

YCAPS & the Sasakawa Peace Foundation are delighted to announce the next event in the Community Conversations seminar series in the Misawa community! This event will feature Mr. Otgonbaatar Byambaa, First Secretary at the Embassy of Mongolia in Japan, who will lead us in a discussion on how Mongolia contributes to Northeast Asian security issues.

Given its friendly relations with all the regional countries and beyond, Mongolia has been actively seeking to contribute to Northeast Asian security issues through multilateral dialogues since the late 1980s. Eventually, it has been playing an important role in peace and security in Northeast Asia in recent decades. Landlocked between Russia and China, Mongolia is perceived as small in terms of population and economic capacity but influential in terms of its proactive diplomacy and its glorious history.

*This will be a hybrid in-person/online event! For those not in the Misawa area, we will broadcast the talk live on zoom and have a moderator in zoom to present questions from the online audience during the Q&A.
