[Book talk - Japanese event] Immigration and Diaspora Studies 10: Dismantling of the Immigration Bureau and the Establishment of the Immigration Agency - Transition from Immigration Control to Multicultural Coexistence

We want to share the information about a book talk on "Immigration andDiaspora Studies 10: Dismantling of the Immigration Bureau and theEstablishment of the Immigration Agency - Transition from Immigration Control to Multicultural Coexistence," edited by our visiting researcher Dr. Jotaro Kato (Mukogawa Women's University).

 

This talk will be held in a hybrid format: in-person at the University of the Sacred Heart (Tokyo) and online via Zoom on July 11 (Tuesday) 18:00-19:30 JST. This talk will be in the Japanese language only.

 

In this course, Dr. Jotaro Kato, who has long been engaged in activities and research on the issue of irregular immigration in Japan from the standpoint of an NGO and a researcher, will discuss Japan's immigration control system and acceptance of immigrants from a historical perspective, as well as the current situation and issues.

 

This lecture will be held in commemoration of the publication of "Immigration and Diaspora Studies 10: Dismantling of the Immigration Bureau and the Establishment of the Immigration Agency - Transition from Immigration Control to Multicultural Coexistence" (Akashi Shoten).
