Dear Social Science Japan,

Please excuse me contacting you out of the blue. I am writing from the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation in London, a charity which promotes closer links between the UK and Japan through events, grants, and scholarships.

The reason I am contacting you is that on Monday 5 December (10am UK time, 7pm Japan time) we are hosting an online webinar for the Book Launch of the book titled 'Voices from the Contemporary Japanese Feminist Movement', by Dr Emma Dalton and Dr Caroline Norma. Details of this event can be found via this link: https://dajf.org.uk/event/voices-from-the-contemporary-japanese-feminist-movement . The speakers are authors Dr Emma Dalton, Lecturer in Japanese at La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia), and Dr Caroline Norma, Senior Lecturer at RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia). In this webinar they will describe Japan's grassroots feminist movement based on testimonies from female activists from different organizations, generating insights about some of the most serious problems faced by women and girls in Japan, as well as compare the approaches of Japanese activists with those of the global feminist movement.

I believe this webinar may be of interest to the followers, members, and subscribers of Social Science Japan. The event is free and open to all and will be hosted on Zoom. If you feel that it might be relevant to the Group's followers, we would be hugely grateful and honoured if you would consider sharing it with them online or through mailing lists. With such distinguished speakers, the event is sure to be of high quality, and we would be very keen for it to be made known to all with an interest in Social Science and the Japanese and global feminist movement. Of course, if this is not possible, I quite understand.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all. Many thanks indeed for your time and consideration.

Best Wishes,

Alice Vicentin
