Sept. 14 Free Lecture at Lakeland University: "Battling Bullying and Racism through Books"

From: Roger Grabowski <grabowski@japan.lakeland.edu>
Date: 2022/09/05

This lecture (in English) will be held Wednesday September 14 at 7:00 at Lakeland University in Ryogoku, Tokyo. It will also be streamed via Zoom.

"Battling Bullying and Racism through Books" presented by Kinota Braithwaite

After his daughter was bullied at her Japanese elementary school because of the color of her skin, Kinota Braithwaite knew that he had to do something to address racism in Japan. So he wrote a book called "Mio the Beautiful" to spread the message that children are beautiful regardless of their skin color. Please join us as Mr. Braithwaite talks about the problems of bullying and discrimination and will provide some insight into how we unite together to drive change.

-To attend the event in person, there is no need to register. For a map and directions to Lakeland's Ryogoku campus, see our website: https://luj.lakeland.edu/contact
