Dear SSJ-Forum list member,
the Department of East Asian Studies - Japanese Studies at University of Vienna would like to draw your attention to the upcoming u:japan lunch lecture:

Heide Imai
"Neighborhood Tokyo: Creative Urban Milieus as Places of Innovation and Polarization"

Date and time: Thursday, June 30, 2022, 12:30~14:00 (CEST, UTC/GMT +2h)
The Zoom Meeting will be open from 12:15 (CEST).

In this virtual lecture Heide Imai (Senshu University & Keio University) aims to illuminate and better understand the role of existing creative urban milieus in the urban development of Tokyo. Various neighborhoods of Tokyo are introduced and 'walked through' (Bakurochō, Hikifune, Kyōjima, Ichigaya, Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Kōenji, Kuramae) to capture how milieu-bound creativity as a collective network resource has and is affecting Tokyo's urban development, especially during and after the Covid -19 Pandemic.
