*Japan Zoominar @ UC San Diego: "Japan's Education System: What's good about it and what needs to change?" with Kan Suzuki *
Wed, May 4, 8:00-9:00 am JST (Tue, Mar 3, 4:00-5:00 pm Pacific)

How should Japan's education evolve in the 21st century? As the digital transformation coincides with globalization and demographic change, the former tenets of lifetime employment are shaking. Job-changing among younger employees is becoming more common, and training company generalists through on-the-job training is no longer either economical or sufficient to build a globally competitive workforce. What are the new tasks of schools and universities, and how can Japan's education system be reformed?
