Professor Mary C. Brinton <https://scholar.harvard.edu/brinton/home> joined Harvard University in 2003 after having taught previously at the University of Chicago and Cornell University. She is currently the Director of the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies and the Reischauer Institute Professor of Sociology at Harvard University. Her research focuses on gender inequality, labor markets and employment, social demography, and contemporary Japanese society. Dr. Brinton has written and edited five books and published over 30 journal articles and book chapters.
