Japan Zoominar @ UC San Diego: "Women in Japanese Science, Business, and Politics" with Dr. Yuko Harayama, moderated by Ulrike Schaede
Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 9:30am-10:30am JST / Tuesday, November 30, 2021, 4:30pm-5:30pm Pacific

In Japan, professional women are notoriously underrepresented in STEM and university positions, and even more so in senior business positions and politics. Dr. Yuko Harayama, former member of the Cabinet Office Council for Science, Technology and Innovation and one of the leading women in Japanese science and technology, speaks on the challenges and opportunities for women in today's Japan, why politics seems so impenetrable, and how business can change toward more diversity and inclusion.
