Dear SSJ-Forum subscribers,

We are pleased to announce that the latest issue of /Social Science Japan Journal/ is now available online.

Social Science Japan Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1

https://academic.oup.com/ssjj/issue/24/1 <https://academic.oup.com/ssjj/issue/24/1>

This special issue, organized by Dr. Florentine Koppenborg of the Technical University of Munich, features five new articles exploring Japan's energy transition and energy politics in the decade since 3/11. The issue also incorporates book reviews of several recent publications related to Japan's contemporary energy and environmental issues.

Also featured in this issue: a look at the challenges faced by new platforms AirBnB and Uber in the Japanese context; a data-driven look at the practice of corporate transfers (/tenkin/) at Japanese firms and its gendered effects among dual-career couples; and a data analysis of the factors affecting disaster preparedness among foreign residents of Japan based on the Nagoya City Foreign Resident Survey.
