"America Is Back"? U.S. Foreign Policy in the Joe Biden Era
Daniel Sneider Rafael Jacob
Moderator: Benoit Hardy-Chartrand (Adjunct Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, Temple University Japan(
Wednesday 17 February 2021 10:00 - 11:30 JST

Overview
"America is back", Joe Biden declared after his election victory last November. What does this mean for the United States' foreign policy, after four years of retreat from its traditional role as the leader of the international liberal order? In addition to polarization and political instability at home, President Biden faces numerous external challenges that will affect his ability to fulfill his promise. What can the East Asian region, and the international community more broadly, expect from his administration at a time of increasing global instability?
