2021-22 POSTGRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS IN JAPANESE STUDIES AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY

REISCHAUER INSTITUTE POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN JAPANESE STUDIES

The Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies (RIJS) at Harvard University will offer several Postdoctoral Fellowships in Japanese Studies to recent PhD graduates of exceptional promise, to provide the opportunity to turn dissertations into publishable manuscripts and to continue research in Japanese studies. Applicants must have received their PhD in 2015 or later, in Japanese studies, in any area of the humanities or social sciences. Selected fellowship recipients must have a registrar-certified PhD by June 30, 2021.

REISCHAUER INSTITUTE JAPAN DIGITAL FELLOWSHIP

The Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies (RIJS) at Harvard University invites applications for a Japan Digital Fellow to lead and facilitate digital scholarship initiatives. All applicants must have at minimum a Master's degree in Japanese Studies or related field(s) or Bachelor's degree with significant work experience. A Doctoral degree is not required for this position.

Deadline: February 15, 2021 (Monday), 5pm EST
Appointment Term: 2 years, commencing August 1, 2021.
Grant Amount: $65,000 stipend (per year); project development support up to $5,000; health insurance coverage for grantee

WCFIA PROGRAM ON US-JAPAN RELATIONS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

During the 2021-22 academic year, the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (WCFIA) Program on US-Japan Relations at Harvard University will offer postdoctoral fellowships for outstanding scholars in the social sciences, including anthropology, economics, (modern) history, law, political science, public health, and sociology. The fellowship recipient must hold a PhD by August 1, 2021.

Appointment Term: 10 months, commencing September 1, 2021.
