From: James Babb <babb@iss.u-tokyo.ac.jp>
Date: 2020/10/07

The University of Tokyo International Publication Initiative (UT-IPI) is seeking interested individuals with a strong academic background in subjects across the social sciences and humanities to add to our register of potential editors of English lan
guage book manuscripts written by Japanese academic staff.

We are looking for native English graduate/post-graduate students or career academics or academic editors with a knowledge of Japan (as well as other countries and regions if possible) and the specialist terminology used in academic writing for relev
ant subject areas. We currently have a strong need for editors with knowledge of law (esp. Japanese law), Japanese history (esp. the history of economic thought) and education (esp. comparative education). In the future, we expect to have manuscripts
covering a range of fields including literature, religion, philosophy, sociology, anthropology and so on.

Those who would like to be added to the register are kindly requested to send a short statement of interest in the body of the email along with curriculum vitae (CV) of academic and editorial work experience (if any) with the latter sent as a Rich Te
xt Format Word or PDF document attachment to the following email address:

ut-ipi@iss.u-tokyo.ac.jp

IMPORTANT: Sending a message with your CV will NOT automatically lead to your addition to the register of editors, nor will addition to the register immediately lead to hiring you for work.

In the process of selecting editors for the register, we may ask you to edit a short section of a manuscript (for which you will be paid if we request you do to so).

Any editorial work will be arranged as the need arises for the editing of academic book manuscripts submitted to the UT-IPI by University of Tokyo academic staff.
