Overview:
In Cybersecurity - Strategy, Workforce, and Intelligence to Protect Organizations from Cyber Threats ( 『サイバーセキュリティー組織を脅威から守る戦略・人材・インテリジェンス』 by the Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd.), Mihoko Matsubara offers at a primer for non-technical professionals to gain the cybersecurity knowledge to understand the threat landscape, communicate with their cybersecurity teams, and make informed business decisions. She provides concrete recommendations so that policymakers and business leaders can avoid potential cybersecurity minefields (e.g., inaction, lack of cyber threat visibility, cybersecurity workforce burnout, and communication breakdowns). In a wide-ranging book that includes case studies of cyberattacks, she provides a framework for professionals in business and government and for researchers to conceptualize cybersecurity.
In light of the growing visibility of these issues, from the questions surrounding ransomware and information warfare to workforce development, we will have a conversation with Mihoko followed by Q&A from the audience.
