"Sustainability & Social Impact in Japan: Doing Good, Better", presented by Robin Lewis

Mymizu co-founder Robin Lewis will share experiences and lessons learned from working in the sustainability field, while exploring trends and opportunities in the field of social impact, both in Japan and globally. This lecture will explore UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), environment, plastic consumption, social business, and international development and will introduce the mymizu platform, which connects people via a free smartphone app to over 5,500 water refill stations (water fountains & partner cafes/restaurants/shops) across Japan and 200,000 globally.

Robin Lewis has 10 years of experience in international development and social innovation, including with organizations such as the World Bank. He is the co-founder of mymizu, an award-winning initiative with a mission to reduce consumption of single-use plastics. He is also the Director of Social Innovation Japan - a platform for social good focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has led humanitarian operations in countries such as Haiti, Nepal, and Mozambique and took on a sponsored expedition in 2017, walking over 600 km along Japan's disaster-affected coastline to document the recovery from the 2011 Fukushima nuclear crisis.
