[SSJ: 10838] Re: Climate strikes and Green politics in Japan

Dear Shelia,

If I may add two cents to your concern, my students (English-speaking Japanese students) at Global Leaders Program at Hitotsubashi University had very different reactions to the whole issue, as compared to your students.

Some of them did actually join the strikes (either in Tokyo or even abroad!), and they are really appalled with the lack of serious attention by the Japanese politicians, media, and youth. They are so concerned that they are now going to organise an event within Hitotsubashi by themselves to discuss what causes such a lack of climate activism in Japan and the sources of different reactions to the whole issues between Japan and abroad. I wonder what causes such different reactions from the different groups of Japanese students...

Kind regards,

Naoko
