Sachi Nakajima from Resilence NPO will give a talk on "Sexual Violence in Japan". This talk is organized as part of the course "Women and Society in Japan" and is open to the public. Please feel free to invite anyone who is interested to attend the talk.

Sachi Nakajima is a founder of the NPO Resilience (http://resilience.jp/), DV & SV Survivor / Author / Lecturer. She studied law at university (Juris Doctor, 1991, Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College) and later obtained her Master's Degree in social work (Master of Social Work, 2003, Portland State University Graduate School of Social Work). Sachi has been active in her work at Resilience since 2003, a non-profit organization that has been providing support to people who have experienced domestic violence. Sachi holds over 100 trainings, workshops and presentations - some are in English and others in Japanese (each year throughout Japan). Her core belief is that having respect, for oneself as well as for others, will significantly decrease the amount of violence in society.
