FALL 2019 2-COURSE TEACHING POSITION


UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE, Irvine, CA 92697-6000. The Department of East Asian Studies invites applications to teach two courses in Japanese Studies during the fall quarter 2019, appointment to begin 9/23/2019-12/13/2019, salary of $6,842.25 per course. Discipline is open to Japanese literature, cinema, theater, visual studies, or any Japanese Studies that emphasizes textual analysis. A Ph.D. is required. Courses include 1) Fourth-year Japanese, "Introduction to Reading," usually taught in Japanese using canonical short stories, after students have completed the 3rd year Tobira series and/or returned from study in Japan and 2) an upper-division Japanese cultural studies course in line with the candidate's expertise and teaching interests.
