Dear friends and colleagues,

We are happy to announce the formation and inaugural meeting of the
Northeast Workshop in Japanese Politics (NEWJP). The goal of NEWJP
is to bring together scholars and students of Japan's domestic
politics, political economy, security, and foreign policy. We plan
to convene annually or biannually in coming years to present new
research projects, give and receive feedback, and cultivate an
active and supportive community for those conducting research on
Japanese politics.

Dartmouth College will host the inaugural meeting of NEWJP on August
26-27, 2019. The schedule of this workshop has been determined with
an expectation that those attending the APSA Annual Meeting in
Washington, DC (August 29 to September 1) will able to set aside a
few additional days before the APSA conference to come to Dartmouth
in Hanover, New Hampshire for intensive feedback and exchange.

Limited funding is available for domestic travel (e.g., between DC
and Hanover), particularly for students and early-career researchers.

If you are interested in presenting your work at this inaugural
meeting of NEWJP, please complete the following form by the deadline
(May 31, 2019).
