[SSJ: 10526] Book announcement: "Security in the Asia Pacific: The Dynamics of Alignment"

From: Thomas Wilkins <thomas.wilkins@sydney.edu.au>
Date: 2019/01/22

Dear colleagues,

I shall be publishing a monograph entitled: "Security in the Asia Pacific: The Dynamics of Alignment" in February. I hope the title will be of interest to IR/security-focussed scholars. I also plan to give a Book Launch event at JIIA in mid-March (details to follow). In the meantime, information, including a sample chapter, can be found at the following link:

https://www.rienner.com/title/Security_in_Asia_Pacific_The_Dynamics_of_Alignment <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/A8-KCBNZwLiN3opgcz5-ug?domain=rienner.com>

Here is a short synopsis:

The complex security dynamics of the pivotal Asia Pacific region,

involving disparate and contentious power blocs, clearly have implications

far beyond the region itself. Thomas Wilkins sheds new light on those

dynamics, providing a rich framework for better understanding the nature

of security alignments in Asia Pacific, as well as a reexamination of the

dominant forces at play: the US alliance system, ASEAN, and the Shanghai

Cooperation Organisation.

Thank you for your attention, best wishes, Tom Wilkins
