Abstract: This year is the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty. With the official visit by Prime Minister Abe to China, it is visible that the bilateral relations has entered a constructive phase. In contrast, conflict between the US and China is intensifying, which complicates even further the situation around the nuclear and missile development in the Korean Peninsula. In this seminar we shall analyze the present and discuss the future of Japan-China relations in this international context of turbulent US-China-DPRK trilateral relations.
