From: 迦部留チャールズ <chacab@gmail.com>
Date: 2018/10/11

1. Call for Papers for the annual IAJS conference to be held in Toyo University, Tokyo, Japan

2. Announcing an open gathering of students, social activists and educators

1.
The International Association for Japan Studies will be holding its annual conference at Toyo University on December 2, 2018.

The theme of this year's conference is "J.A.P.A.N 'IN BITS," and the deadline for proposals is October 31, 2018.

For more information, please visit the following link:
http://www.iajs.net/cfp.html

2.
The theme of the student-centered second day of the conference, held on Dec. 3 is: "J.A.P.A.N 'IN BITS, Wake Up!"

The second day is free and open it all, but separate registration is required. The deadline is November 16, 2018.

We aim to bring together students, social activists and educators from the Kanto region in a student-centered

gathering dedicated to issues connected with social justice and equity. This should provide a wonderful

opportunity for students to present individual research in poster presentations while discussing ideas

with activists and educators committed to bringing about social change. Activists and educators

interested in expanding their interactions while connecting with regional students are especially welcome.

We urge educators to help publicize the event and encourage students to attend.
