[SSJ: 10353] Tenure academic openings in Sociology and Political Science at NTNU

From: Paul Midford <paul.midford@ntnu.no>
Date: 2018/09/03

The Department of Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has jobs searches open for 4 to 5 Sociologists and one Political Scientist. These are permanent and tenured positions. One to two of the Sociologists would be in the Sociology of Sports, and the Political Science opening is in political behavior. While none of these positions has an explicit Japan focus, my department would welcome applications combining strong competence in these academic disciplines with a Japan (or even East Asia) area focus. The advertisements are written in Norwegian, but we welcome applications in English. Teaching can be conducted in English.

Three positions in Sociology (work, organization, technology and social change):

One or two positions in the Sociology of Sport:

One position in Political Science (political behavior)

While I am not serving on any of these search committees, and hence cannot answer any questions regarding the details of how to apply, I would be happy to answer questions about what it's like to live in Trondheim and work in Norway and at NTNU, and my department in particular. I can also discuss my Department's commitment to research and teaching on Japan.

Best Wishes,

Paul
