Around the World in a Wine Glass, presented by Sandra Shoji

This lecture will introduce all aspects of wine and wine culture, exploring the history of wine, the evolution of modern viticulture, and the geography of modern wine regions. It will also offer some practical tips for budding wine enthusiasts, including how to read a restaurant wine list, how to store wine, and how to serve it in the right glass.


Minnesota native Sandra Shoji earned a diploma from the four-year wine business program at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, London and then became a certified wine instructor. She has also studied at the renowned Institute of Masters of Wine, London.Ms. Shoji has been a wine instructor for 19 years at Temple University Japan and a university instructor at various Japanese universities since 2001. She has been a wine columnist for the /Daily Yomiuri/ and for /Wines and Vines/ magazine and has been a certified judge for the annual International Japan Wine Challenge for 17 years.
