Dear Colleagues,

The East Asian Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University, in
cooperation with the Japan Foundation and the Program in Racism,
Immigration, and Citizenship, is excited to announce that
novelistMin Jin Lee <https://www.minjinlee.com/>will be joining us
for a special event,

"AfterlivesofEmpire: A Symposium on /Pachinko/".

At this symposium, she will discuss her 2017 National Book Awards
finalist and best-selling novel,/Pachinko/. Min Jin Lee will be
joined by Jenny Wang Medina of Rutgers University, Alyssa Park of
the University of Iowa, Yeongsu Chang of the University of Tokyo,
Erin Chung of Johns Hopkins University, and Yumi Kim of Johns
Hopkins University.

Seating will be extremely limited, and there has been a great deal
of interest from outside the Hopkins community. Therefore,*_we are
