A very interesting point!

I don't remember what was the study I read about this issue, but "it is
widely known that," indeed, "young people vote less than older ones." It
applies to some other countries as well.

Now that the voting age has been lowered to 18, and this coming elections
are the first in which people in their teens can vote, it has lately been
reported in the newspapers (I think the Mainichi) that the parties decided
to make extra efforts to get the young people to vote. However, I am not
aware of what measures the parties have taken to this end, if any.
