I'm teaching Japanese politics to American students for the first time in eight or nine years, and I'm out of touch. I do want to use a text for the basic factual stuff at least and I'm wondering what others teaching such courses are using these days. The course is this fall at Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies, where I am a late recruit due to a cancellation.
