[SSJ: 7967] The LDP and the 2012 Election
From: Robert Pekkanen (pekkanen@u.washington.edu)
Date: 2013/02/14
Dear Colleagues,
I have written a CSIS Japan Chair Platform essay on the LDP at https://csis.org/publication/japan-chair-platform-ldp-r
ises-again
As an early announcement, you'll see that the essay draws on a chapter by Masahisa Endo, myself, and Steve Reed on the LDP, which will appear in a new book Japan Decides 2012 , edited by me, Steven R. Reed and Ethan Scheiner. There are many excellent chapters in this book, which features leading scholars writing on the parties, results, process, policies and other issues of the election. Authors include the book's editors (Pekkanen, Reed, Scheiner), Daniel Markham Smith, Michael Thies, Ben Nyblade, Masahisa Endo, Robert Weiner, Axel Klein, Ray Christensen, Kay Shimizu, Matt Carlson, Sherry Martin Murphy, Paul Midford, Yves Tiberghien, Chris Winkler, Aurelia George Mulgan, and Yuki Yanai. Astonishingly, this book is already in production at Palgrave, and will be published before the House of Councillors election in July 2013.
