[SSJ: 7582] Conference announcement - (23-25 July)

From: Robert David Kipp
Date: 2012/07/17

Good day,

I was hoping you could share an announcement on a forum my institute is organising next week. Each year we usually get a mix of participants from private industry, government, and university researchers and students - mostly Japanese while many of our speakers are foreign academics and policy makers. It is really nice to see so many Japanese interested in research and policy discussions, but I would really like to see more of the Japan-based foreign research community involved in this event.

Under the broad banner of sustainable development policy the main topics will be:

climate change policy
disaster and resilience (based on research we've been doing in Tohoku (decontamination and recovery related policy research) energy efficient housing/smart cities, and implication of Rio+20 outcomes to the Asia-Pacific region.

Other topics will be covered, you can see the schedule on the website:
http://www.iges.or.jp/en/news/event/isap2012/index.html

It is free and open to all, and we will have J-E and E-J translation. The climate change/energy/disaster related research is mostly domestic, but we invited speakers from other countries to contrast their experiences with the Japanese case.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in sharing then I will send you a proper announcement.
Please let me know if there are any guidelines or restrictions for the announcements. As the event is next week I would greatly appreciate hearing from you soon.

Thank you, and kind regards.

Robert
